June's Hurricane Season Quietly Closes. What About July?

June's hurricane season has officially come to a close, with little activity, but what about July's hurricane season.

Tropical 2

In case you haven't been paying attention, June's hurricane season has concluded without any activity in the Atlantic. As we enter into July, however, things are expected to pick back up. On average, July produces less than 1 hurricane, however, it has produced 58 hurricanes and 125 tropical storms, since 1951.

By far, the busiest seasons will be August, September and October, producing the lion's share of hurricanes and tropical storms. Below, we can see July 1-10 vs October 1-10.
