Michael Officially a Category 4

in Weather

Michael has officially been upgraded to a category 4 hurricane, with sustained winds of 114 knots (131 mph)

Michael could become the most devastating storm seen by the Florida panhandle, in recorded history and will probably eclipse Florence in wind damage. Category 1 winds should extend inland, well into Georgia and the southeast corner of Alabama.

At this time, we are already seeing signs of incoming storm surge, as waves are now reaching the top of the beaches. We expect them to get much higher. If you live in a coastal area, evacuate, now. Rescuers will not be able to reach you, after the storm begins.
