NOAA Gives 92L an 80% Chance

Year's first storm could develop over the northern Gulf of Mexico.

Officialy listed as 92L a system of low pressure, currently over Georgia could slip into the Gulf of Mexico and intensify into the year's first named storm system, Barry. According to NOAA, a tropical depression is likely to form, in the next couple days, but despite this, heavy rainfall is expected "while the low meanders near the Gulf Coast." NOAA currently gives the storm an 80% chance of tropical formation, in the next 5 days.
