Volunteers are the cornerstone of our organization, from performing water rescues to helping veterans, we can never have too many volunteers. As a volunteer of Triton Relief Group, you will learn new skills, meet new people, help others, benefit from training and have a sense of purpose. No particular work experience is needed, but a strong work ethic, ability to work with others and a passion for helping people at their worst is required.

All Triton Relief Group prospective and current volunteers will be subject to a criminal history background check.

Triton Relief Group is dedicated to the safety of those we serve, as well as the volunteers in our organization. Background checks have been a part of Triton Relief Group, since our inception.
Can I use an existing background check?
Yes, if your background check is less than 1 year old, it at least searches for as much as ours and you can obtain a copy, we will consider accepting it. Remember, you are entitled to a copy of your background check.
Do I need to perform a background check?
All volunteers of Triton Relief Group are required to perform background checks.
Why do I need a background check?
There are multiple reasons.
Triton Relief Group requires background checks for all volunteers that may interact with children. Because all volunteers may interact with children, all volunteers are required to complete a background check.
We are dedicated to the safety of those individuals we serve. We want to ensure the volunteers we recruit are of the highest caliber.
Disasters bring out both the best and worst in the humanity. Triton Relief Group is dedicated to preventing scammers from entering our organization and using their position to swindle people.
Unfortunately, for the same reason above, Triton Relief Group must protect its volunteers, as well.
Who pays for the background check?
Volunteers come and go. Often, volunteers only stay for a couple days, then, are never heard from again. Because of this, Triton Relief Group requires volunteers to cover the fee for their background check.
How much does a. background check cost?
As of February 18, 2019, background checks are $20. This fee is paid for by the volunteer.
Who performs the background check?
Background checks for Triton Relief Group are performed by a third party, True-Hire. We are required by federal law to use a third-party company that specializes in background checks.
Can I get a copy of my background check?
Yes. You are entitled to a free copy of your background check, after you have completed and paid the fee.
What are you looking for in a background check?
Our background check process looks for Felonies and Sex offenders. We do not look for misdemeanors or run credit checks on volunteers.
Are background check fees refundable?
No. Background check fees are not refundable or reimbursable. If you are thinking of applying and might have a felony or sex offense, please check with an HR representative, before proceeding.
